About

Château Cheval Blanc, a Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” wine estate, is situated in the Saint-Emilion appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, France. The estate's history dates back to the 15th century, with significant developments in 1832 when Jean-Jacques Ducasse acquired the core vineyard. His daughter Henriette's marriage to Jean Laussac-Fourcaud led to modernization and replanting with 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc in the mid-1860s. The estate is renowned for its complex wines, blending grapes from 45 plots with diverse soil types, resulting in balanced and elegant wines. The winery, designed by Christian de Portzamparc, is a masterpiece of environmentally-friendly architecture.
